Sukhumvit Road is one of
the major highways in the city of Bangkok. It is like what EDSA is to Manila
sans the extraordinarily grueling traffic and heavy pollution. A cluster of shopping
malls, restaurants, and residential areas can be made out in this part. And,
when an area is flocked by many, dinning surely behooves as an abundant facet. Food
and drinks of all sorts are experiences not to be missed in the country. These
experiences offer a unique kind of flair of the modern and the traditional,
whether you are buzzing for breakfast or elevenses, chowing on a big lunch, or
retiring to a comforting tea or dinner. As we steered towards our last hours in
the lovely city of Bangkok, we stopped at a cozy, Japanese-inspired specialty
coffee bar, Hands and Heart, to relish in our last full meal.
Hands and Heart was
highly recommended by most Bangkok-based café hoppers I contacted on Instagram.
They are known for their clean and minimalist space spurred from Teshima Art
Museum in Japan, with monochromatic elements and with a Zen verve. It boasts
itself as a coffee community in a town with neighborly atmosphere. Above all,
their coffees and breakfast finds are favorably commended by both locals and tourists
for the quality and taste. The people behind the shop follows a principle of
appreciating and valuing the synergy among farmers, roasters, baristas, and their
customers. Their beans are sourced from both local and international producers,
like Coffee Collective and Timweldel Boe. These are, in turn, crafted to
perfection through hand brewing of your choice, from Aeropress, pour-over to
Chemex. Other gastronomic selections in the café include white coffees, cold
brews, coffee kombucha, sodas, teas, shakes, herbal drinks, sandwiches, cakes,
pastries, and breakfast and brunch dishes.
What I Got for Breakfast?
Ham. Seared ham served with toast, scrambled eggs, and lettuce salad dressed with vinaigrette.
Tuna Sandwich. Grilled
wheat bread filled with homemade tuna paste and served with seasoned cherry
tomatoes.
Clean Hands. An
impeccably delicate fusion of coffee, caramel, and milk.
Red Velvet Cake. Two layers
of crimson red chocolate cake filled and then frosted with cream cheese.
Items in the coffee bar emblazon
the words “Let’s start making with your heart, then your hands will roast all
the rest!” a beck of their rewarding drive in finding and making the
extraordinary in the ordinary. It is a conspicuous demonstration of all the
craftsmanship from the hands and the passion from the heart that they pour into
every drink and every dish they proudly serve. Lighten up your mood with a
breakfast done right at Hands and Heart Coffee, every day from 7:00 AM to 9:00
PM. They are situated at 33 Ascella Condo, Soi Sukhumvit 38, Watthana District,
Bangkok, Thailand.
