Bigby’s Café and Restaurant has long been pioneering in the local culinary scene in Cagayan de Oro. Being one of the most successful homegrown food businesses, it has already spanned its horizons to Cebu, Davao, and General Santos, and furthering its reach through other archetypes like Missy Bonbon, Boy Zugba, and The Nest. Since Come Home to Bigby’s campaign is inviting enough to host precious memories, I decided to treat my friends for my post birthday celebration courtesy of Bigby’s. Its third branch in Cagayan de Oro has been themed akin to a travel diner with a dash of retro flair. With its schmaltzy ambiance, one would be so in relief with the passé knickknacks embellished on each post. The food also never fails to uphold Bigby’s brand of casual, yet, prime service; truly, a homey ambiance with first-class niceties. As it reverberates a Kagay-anon dining experience, it concurrently offers a nostalgia of coming home to cherished classics and memories.
Complementing its wanderlust refinements and classics, its menu provides a variety of not just Filipino favorites, but also international flavors. The menu ranges from taste teasers, pastas and sandwiches, homestyle grill steaks, seafood platters, to desserts, and, its newest addition, the K-pop foodie goals.
What I Got for Lunch?
Grilled Chicken Carbonara. An assortment of fettuccine cooked al dente with garlic cream sauce, grilled chicken slices, and bacon bits. A perfect balance of the pungent garlic, the rich cream base, and the smoky flavor of chicken.
Superstar Bulgogi. The newest addition to their ever cosmopolitan menu, inspired from the Hallyu craze. A set of Korean marinated slices of beef alongside poached egg, stir-fried spinach, and kimchi fried rice.
Mango Chantilly Crêpe . Bigby’s version of the French crêpe made thin and light, filled with a sweet cream in the inside while topped with mangoes and vanilla ice cream on the outside.
